Entertainment : McConaughy Oscar’s Speech…

Catégorie: Arts : Celebrities : Entertainment : Health : Movie : Watch this !

McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey speech at yesterday’s Oscars got different opinions from all over the world.  Us Weekly called it a  “touching” speech (really?) while Time called it “confounding” and “semi-bizarre”.

I’ll personally say that I’m a bit disappointed that McConaughey didn’t mention HIV/AIDS once in his speech. Given that he won for the “Best Actor” award in his role playing a person with AIDS in “Dallas Buyers Club,” you’d think maybe he could have paused his self-indulgent, self-congratulatory, self-obessed speech to mention — as did Jared Leto, who also won an Oscar playing a person with AIDS in “Dallas Buyers Club” — the “36 million people who have lost the battle to AIDS.”

What do you guys think?

Check out both speech after the jump!

Speak Out : Uprising Of Love – For Sochi LGBT

upr

At this unique moment in history, when we are seeing such rapid progress in the fight for equality in the West, we cannot be blinded to appalling crimes against humanity elsewhere. Today in Russia, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people are facing harassment, arrest and violence under a set of horrific new laws. For their sake, we must come together and start an uprising of love.

Models Colby Melvin and Brandon Brown ask for your help in this new video promoting global Pride Houses. A Pride House is a place for LGBT athletes, fans, and friends to meet and enjoy international sporting events. At the previous two Olympics, there was a Pride House in the host country. This year, Russia has forbidden the establishment of a Pride House in Sochi. In response, restaurants, bars, and clubs across the country are becoming Pride Houses in solidarity with LGBT Russians and donating $1 of every drink sold between 9pm and midnight on the night of the Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony to the Russia Freedom Fund.

Find participating venues here.

You can also download Uprising Of Love on iTunes, a song written and sang by Melissa Etheridge for the event. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Russia Freedom Fund!

Check out the video and listen to a remix of the amazing song after the jump!

 grammy

Last night was the annual Grammy Awards Show and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, the hip-hop duo performed their runaway hit “Same Love” with Mary Lambert, the song that has become an anthem for the movement to win marriage for same-sex couples nationwide. Pop icon Madonna, and Queen Latifah joined them at the end of the song. During the performance, which also included bits of Madonna’s hit “Open Your Heart”, more than 30 couples – including same-sex couples, different-sex couples, older couples, and younger couples – married live on stage!

It was an amazing performance!

Watch This : Straight Celebs Kiss To Fight Homophobia

SPERRFRIST 11.12.13 6.00Uhr GQ Mundpropaganda

The German version of men’s magazine GQ launched this amazing campaign against homophobia this month. An upcoming edition features a photo essay of straight male, German celebs kissing.

#Mundpropaganda campaign was made in the hope of clearly stating the magazine’s stance against intolerance and discrimination of homosexuality. Editors had 13 German celebrities to kiss in front of the lens (for our pleasure)

Rappers Moses Pelham and Thomas D got involved, as well as Olympic beach volleyball champion Julius Brink. The result was fantastic and the photos are very tender. This campaign intended to stand also in solidarity with what currently makes the headlines in Russia.

“The intolerance that homosexuals are still fighting against is shocking,” said Editor-in-Chief José Redondo-Vega. “With #Mundpropaganda  we wanted to give a clear sign in favour of a free society.”

I think you will agree that this is a fantastic idea right? GQ readers are mainly straight men, so it is amazing that they will all get to see that cover. I wish GQ USA would do the same!

Check out the “making of” after the jump, you’ll see that some guys really went for the big kiss:)

Dreams

Sometimes when I sleep at night, I’m reliving a past,

But when I awake, those visions never seem to last.

So I try really hard, to fall asleep again,

Or try to write it all down with the closest pen.

Every dream is a thought that helps guide us through,

To another place, or something better in view.

There are times when life is much better, when we are asleep,

Holding on to moments, we wish we could always keep.
